The Spinning Guy

In this blog, I'm going to talk about alpacas, fiber, spinning, and I'm going to generally try very hard to keep my readers posted about what's on my skirting board, what's on my spinning wheel, and what I'm knitting or crocheting.

Shearing is Finished

We have finished shearing for 2006. Here is proof.

Anna -- note the difference from yesterday's pictures. Yes, this is the same alpaca.

We're hot and tired, and we've had too much sun. The alpacas are hot and stressed and mostly in the shade.

And Chloe still hasn't had her cria.

I will try this again. (Note to self: do not close window when on preview...) Anna looks beautiful- a very nice job indeed. I wondered if you did the shearing yourselves or if it was done by a professional. Sometimes, because they do the job so quickly, they don't look this nice.
Sue (who isn't previewing this time!)

It's always such a shock to see what they look like under all that fleece. We're shearing monday and I know the girls will be happy to be rid of those big fur coats.
Day 365 for Sancha and still counting!

Wow, look at that skinny nakedness!

Hope Chloe doesn't keep you in suspense much longer!
